What to say about the Robert Cupp course at Palmetto Hall. This is one of the most unique courses I’ve ever played as it was designed by a computer. While there are some oddities due to this, the course is fun at every turn. Arguably the most difficult public course in the island, the Robert Cupp course will put the player to the ultimate test. The course plays just over 7k from the tips. The par 4 7th is the most narrow fairway and landing area I’ve ever played, with zero margin of error, not to mention its 459 yards from the tips! The Cupp course boasts the most difficult rough on the island. Highly recommend an early morning tee time, as the sun casts a shine over the course that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Conditions are great and the the value is unbelievable for a course of this difficulty, although I did hear they are having some trouble on some of their back nine greens as of late. Palmetto Hall boasts a spacious driving range. Played my round in a little over 2 hours by myself. A true hidden gem on Hilton Head Island and arguably my favorite course on the island.
